imply setting up large and successful business empires, the term
perhaps has more to it. Striving for perfection and delivering

For this businessman, increasing revenue figures or aiming for higher
turnovers have never implied. On the contrary, work was a mean of
setting up a precedent for others and improvising on his shortfalls.

for and Thangavel in turn derived satisfaction from the services

Thangavel along with his classmate made
a humble beginning as an entrepreneur in the year 1993. Having worked
as a production and support engineer in an IT firm, paved way for him
to create a strong foundation in learning the nuances of information
and communication technology. Thangavel had a clear vision that he
would become an engineer some day, for fulfilling his dream he
obtained a diploma in communication and electronics engineering at
Palani, a rural area in Tamilnadu.

A rural background never deterred him
from looking ahead and he has a burning desire to create a success
story in the IT industry. Origin Information Technology engaged
itself in the business of IT products and services. After
establishing themselves in the market as a reliable and quality
conscious vendor and service provider, the promoters formed a
company, Origin Infosys Private Limited, in the year 1998. The
company then started providing end-to-end IT solutions to major
corporates such as Citibank, Fullerton, TCS, Cognizant, Thinksoft,
NIIT, Servion Global, iSoft R&D, ELCOT, Ajuba, Zenta, Sutherland
etc. In tune with the expanding areas of business, such as providing
turnkey infrastructural solutions to the IT sector, the company
rechristened itself as Origin IT and Facility Solutions Private
Limited in the year 2008 and now has an employee strength of more
than 500.

In the initial stage, the company
bagged an order from NIIT Madras for infrastructural solutions, which
opened the door for Origin. When Thangavel embarked in this space,
his company was the only one that had the capabilities to provide
entire end-to-end solutions for all IT fronts. "My company has
always approached customers with their best interest in mind, but I
feel that this honest approach is sometimes an obstacle, especially
in these times of competition. Many service providers do not provide
customers a clear picture. Our business is based on relationships and
customers have built confidence in us over a period of time,"
said Thangavel.

His success mantra is hard work, with
the customers in focus and to do the best to help customers achieve
their goals. In 2008-09, the company bagged a major contract from
ELCOT (The e-governance department of Tamilnadu), which shows some
phenomenal growth in Origin's graph. Origin helps organizations
optimize their resources by providing a complete portfolio of
solutions and services for managing enterprise IT infrastructure. It
has carved a niche for itself in this area by thoughtful creation of
IT infrastructure catering to various needs, which has paved way for
attracting the who's who of the IT industry. Leading IT giants
including Cognizant, Siebel, Oracle and Sun, utilize facilities at
Origin for their corporate training. Thangavel believes in the credo
that no customer who comes to Origin should go away dissatisfied in
any way. Thus, all efforts are made to meet the customer's
expectations in every way, leading to a win-win situation for both.
Customers' satisfaction and delight with Origin has resulted in
business crossing the Rs 500 million mark. The company plans to
double the turnover by 2011-12. For the current year, the company's
focus is 50 percent on the IT-related products and another half on IT
infrastructure solutions.

For Thangavel, his family, team members
and friends have played a major role in his life to achieve this
successful business role. He also took the opportunity to thank his
